Meet the NAC: Laura Caramanica

In the coming weeks, we will be introducing you to the members of INQRI's National Advisory Committee (NAC) and having them share their views about the program. First up, is Laura Caramanica, RN, PhD. Dr. Caramanica is the chief nursing officer at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA. She has held several nursing executive positions, including with Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY, Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT, Lawrence Memorial in New London, CT, and Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, CT. An experienced healthcare executive, she has more than 20 years of senior-level leadership in acute care settings, including strategic planning, operational management, business development, resource management, and promoting clinical safety. She has taught, published, and presented extensively in the area of leadership, quality/performance improvement, shared governance, and nursing practice. Dr. Caramanica is the current president of the American Organization of Nurse Executives.

We asked Dr. Caramanica to share with us what she has gained as a member of the INQRI NAC.
