Upcoming Webinar: Nurse-Led Intervention to Improve Treatment for Substance Abuse

The INQRI program's final grant solicitation sought to build on the research conducted in the first four funding cycles. Instead of identifying new topic areas, the call for proposals addressed another core dimension of INQRI's mission: the translation of knowledge to improve nursing care and patient outcomes. In this final phase, INQRI sought proposals focused on projects that would promote ways to implement successful evidence-based strategies and practices.

These grantees have recently completed their projects and we are pleased to present a webinar series in which they share their findings and discuss future implications of their work.

Too Little Mental Health Care For Baby Boomers

A recent report released by the Institute of Medicine has found that one in every five seniors suffers from a mental health or substance abuse issue and with the health care workforce lacking adequate training in these fields, many issues may arise over the next decade for treating this vulnerable population. With the health care sector preparing for the physical needs of the aging baby boomer population, this report serves as a critical reminder about the importance of a holistic approach to treating patients.

You can access a synopsis of the report here.
